Murukku
Murukku is south Indian snack made with rice and urad dal flour. It is also popular Diwali snacks. It is an all-time favorite tea time snacks. Everyone love to this murukku with a cup of tea.
Ingredients
- 200 gm Rice flour
- 60 gm Urad dal
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp White Sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp Hot oil
- 1/6 tbsp Baking soda
- 1/6 tbsp Asafetida
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 cup Water
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a cooker add uraddal and add ½ cup water. Let’s it cook for 2 whistle on a medium heat.
- Transfer into blender and grind it to fine paste.
- Into a large mixer bowl add the rice flour then the add urad dal paste, butter, sesame seeds,baking soda, asafetida, slat, required water and mix well.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in pour it to the flour and mix well. Now the murukku flour is ready.
- After mixing the dough, it has to be used immediately. Heat the oil in a kadai on a medium flame.
- Take some amount of the murukku dough and add it to the murukku maker, you can directly add it to the oil or we can press it in a ladle and then drop it in oil.
- Fry until golden and crisp on a medium flame.
