Jeera Rice Recipe

 

Jeera rice is a popular dish in north Indian. It is also super simple and quick recipes. Making jeera rice is one of the simplest and only needs handful ingredients.
Jeera rice or cumin rice is an extremely popular rich dish in India. You would almost always find it on the menu of your favorite Indian restaurants too. Cumin’splays a key role of not only to flavor & add texture to the foods but also enhance the nutritional value.
Cumin has natural medicine value for digestive system. So, jeera rice is great to include in your meal as it helps indigestion, especially when you plan for a heavy meal. So, this Jeera rice is always my choice to go with, Mutton gravy, Chicken masala, Paneerbutter masala and Rajma masala.
Friends please do try this aromatic jeera rice. It will good replace from boring white rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 Piece Bay leaf
  • 1 Piece Cinnamon
  • 1 Piece Cardamom
  • 3 Piece Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 3 piece Green chilies
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • Water as required
  • Salt
  • Coriander leaves

Instructions

  • Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a cooker, let’s melt the ghee. Now for flavoring add cardamom,cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, cumin seeds and green chili and sauté 3mins. 
  • Add sliced onion and sauté until golden. Add peas and sauté 3 mins. Add drained basmati rice. Fry for 2 to 3 mins on high flame. Add 2 cup water also add in required salt.
  • Mix it well and cover then cook for 1 whistle on medium flame. When the pressure goes off, open the lid.
  • You can add a bit more of ghee if desired. Add chopped coriander leaves mix it gently.
  • Now our delicious jeera rice is ready to be served.
