Indroduction
On normal days, it’s okay to work from home. It is very challenging to watch ‘Work from Home’ (WFH) in such a tense environment. At a time when Corona’s demand is slowly making its way into India, Google, Tata Motors and many other IT companies are issuing orders for their employees to work from home.
On normal days, it’s okay to work from home. WFH in such a stressful environment can be very challenging. It takes courage and self-confidence to deal with it.
WFH is a very familiar thing for IT employees. But it is also new to other sectors. They are the ones who have to take more care and do the work carefully in a tense situation like this. Distractions are more likely to occur while waiting for home and doing work.
Here are 5 steps for you.
Work without stress!
WFH working from home is one of the most comfortable days. But, in the current tense situation, working as if we are alone at home will only increase the tension. There is already news about Corona everywhere you turn. We need to adapt our work environment to escape from such tension while engaging in work.
A quiet room with no clutter would be ideal for work. Do not panic at the news at work, discuss it with family members, browse messages on WhatsApp and send it to family members and friends out of concern. Keep all these actions after finishing the work.
No one is allowed!
WFH can be a source of frustration while at work. There will be color running here and there since it is a holiday for kids too. For this we have to stay away from them. Working from a room in any corner of the house can help you avoid outside noise and children’s play noise.
You can even leave a sign saying no one is allowed to work before you start working. Do not allow relatives to come home because all schools and colleges are holidays by Corona. It is better not to go to other people’s house until the situation improves.
Let’s take a short break!
WFH the home environment is the exact opposite of the environment we work in the office. From time to time we would go to the tea shop with colleagues in the office without even realizing it. This will prevent irritation to the mind and brain. But, working at home alone can make us forget to take a break.
So even when working from home you can take short breaks from time to time. Play or sing with the children at home during breaks. Doing so will avoid hatred for the work you do. Only do what you need to do to relax the mind during this break. Don’t go into corona talks again.
Only office calls can be accepted!
When we are at WFH we often take the calls of everyone who comes in on mobile. Thus speaking while working can be a waste of time and the focus on doing the work is more likely to scatter. To avoid this you can only take incoming calls for work. If you are in a hurry on a normal call, you can disconnect and talk about what you need to talk about.
Our other major distraction is social networking sites. We use social networking sites sparingly because others will see us while we are in the office. Since we are the only king at home we may have to spend more time on social websites. Thus social networking sites can also be used for work purposes only.
Inverter and battery back-up!
The generator will start running as soon as there is a power outage while working in the WFH office. If there is an unexpected power outage while working from home, the work we were doing will stop in half.
It is essential to always have an inverter and battery back-up ready to escape from a difficult time. Thus we can continue to do the work we do even in the event of a power outage.
