Do’s and Don’ts to maintain your silk sarees,

  • When you are tied up for special things, you should not wear silk and fold it immediately. It’s not perfect. Let it dry for two and three hours in an airy shade. Dry your hands with a dry hand and then press down. For that reason, silk ware should not be kept in the sunshine. Do not rinse with soap or soap powder. Just squeezing silk in water is enough.
  • If you have any stains in the silk shop, how to care for it without using soap powder! There are ways to do that. If something is stained, immediately rinse off the water. If the oil stain is applied, leave it on the spot for ten minutes and then leave. Silk sarees should not be kept in water for years.
  • Dry the water in the shade at least once in three months. When ironing, turn the lid off and spread the thin fabric over it. Do not directly Iron. The silk fabric can be placed in a cloth, not in a cardboard box, as purchased from the store.
  • Don’t spray deodorants or perfumes directly over the saree. It may create faded patches in the sprayed spots. Preferably keep each silk saree in a separate pouch that would help prevent color bleeding.
