Fish Cutlet

It's a very easy recipe and since fish gets cooked pretty fast, it doesn't take much time also. If you haven't tried fish cutlets yet, do give it a try. I do hope you will like it.

  • 1/2 Cup Fish
  • 1 tbsp Finelychopped ginger & garlic
  • 2 Onion
  • 3 Green Chili
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Boiled and Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Oil for frying
  • Salt as needed


  • Add turmeric, chili powder and salt to the fish pieces and fry until half cooked. 
  • Then add 2 spoons of oil and add onions, green chilies and curry leaves and sauté until golden brown. 
  • Then add chopped ginger and garlic to it and sauté till the green leaves wilt. 
  • Then add the fried and chopped fish and sauté further.
  • Add coriander leaves, mix with mashed yams and pat it like a vada with your hands.
  • Beat the egg in a mixer without lumps. Spread the bread crumbs evenly in a wide pan. 
  • Then dip the battered fish balls in egg and roll them in bread crumbs. 
  • If you take all the vadas like this and put them in the freezer for 10 minutes,the bread crumbs will stick well to the vadas. 
  • After draining 1/4 cup of oil, I put six or more vadas in a stick pan and fry until golden on both sides and serve.
  • Ready to serve
